Create News from a SharePoint Online home page is a new Office 365 feature. We’ll begin rolling this feature out in the next few days.

How does this affect me?
Users will be able to create news from a new “Create News” entry point on their SharePoint Online home page.
Once you click the “SharePoint” tile app in the Office 365 launcher, you’ll see the new “Create news” button next to the “Create site” button. Click “Create news” and then chose from the right-hand fly out pane where you wish to publish the news article to. You can share to a team site or a communication site of your choice from the list of sites available to you.
We’ll be gradually rolling this out to First Release organizations in early December, and the roll out will be completed by the end of January.
