Communication Sites are a new Office 365 feature. We’ll begin rolling this feature out in the next few days.

How does this affect me?
Customers will now be able to select a new SharePoint site template as part of self service site provisioning called a Communication Site. Like SharePoint team sites, new communication sites are created in seconds by clicking Create site on SharePoint home in Office 365. It is then easy to adjust page layouts, add web parts, and pull in valuable data and content from other services, like conversations from Yammer and videos from Microsoft Stream. The result is a vibrant, interactive, dynamic experiences for your site visitors.
We’ll be gradually rolling this out to First Release customers in late June, and the roll out will be completed by the end of July.
What do I need to do to prepare for this change?
