Office 365 Update: Office 365 Groups Owners

We’re increasing the number of owners that can exist on an Office 365 Group. You’ll begin seeing this updated feature in the coming days. This message is associated with Office 365 Roadmap ID 20326. While our goal is to ensure that we notify you in advance of upcoming changes, we acknowledge that we did not provide timely notice for this change. We will continue to look for ways to improve our notifications.

How does this affect me?

Previously, an Office 365 Group could have no more than 10 owners. This limit has been increased to 100. A limit of 100 owners is now supported in Azure Active Directory, Office Admin Portal, Exchange Admin Center, and OWA. Additionally, Distribution Lists that were previously ineligible for upgrade to Office 365 Groups due to the owner limit are now eligible. We’ll begin rolling this out today, and the rollout will be completed by the end of July.
