New Yammer Group Experiences announced

I received an e-mail with new experiences for Yammer Groups:

Default landing experience: Users returning to users will now land in the last group they visited, rather than the home feed, to deliver continuity in their group experience.

  • New Group Destinations: There are a few new experiences being tested on this front. First, each Yammer group will show unread group conversations in a separate tab from all group conversations, and each unread conversation has an indicator that disappears as users read through each message. By flagging all new group conversations and showing when users have seen all unread messages, our goal here is to help users work more effectively in groups and give them confidence their group posts are viewed by other group members. Next, each Yammer group will also show unread inbox conversations from that group. As a reminder, the Yammer inbox contains all messages a user has been @mentioned, posted, replied to or is following; because the user is explicitly addressed in these messages, we prioritize them in the inbox. By including an inbox view within each Yammer group, our goal is to make it easier for users to read and respond to their priority messages within their group context. The inbox view is still being built and will start A/B testing in a couple of months.
  • Optimizing Yammer Inbox  for Team Collaboration: Our goal is to update the Yammer inbox with an eye toward teamwork. Today the inbox enables users to view all priority messages across their groups in one place, but doesn’t provide the right structure or workflow to get through them easily. To address this, we’re organizing inbox messages by group, introducing group bulk actions with the ability to mark each group group as read, replacing “Mark as Unread” with a “Read Later” functionality that lets users flag messages for follow up for more effective workflow, and showing unread messages and messages marked to “Read Later” as separate tabs within the inbox. We’re also separating direct messages from group conversations in the inbox. Finally, we’re streamlining the inbox by removing duplicate content; if a priority message has been viewed within a group, it will be marked as read and no longer show up in the unread conversation tab of the inbox.
  • Group Admin Onboarding: In order to help get newly created group off to a successful start, we’re introducing a new onboarding experience for Yammer group admins. When setting up a new group, group admins will be prompted to provide the right context and bring in the right people by writing a description, invite members, and starting a conversation.

“Finally, we’re streamlining the inbox by removing duplicate content; if a priority message has been viewed within a group, it will be marked as read and no longer show up in the unread conversation tab of the inbox.”
Nice idea but they screwed up. Replies to a conversation don’t make the conversation “Unread”. So once I’ve read an initial post , I won’t see any replies to that conversation unless I specifically go look for it. Yammer is Prioritising new post’s over replies. There’s no value in maintaining a back and forth conversation as every new post about any triviality will take precedent over replies.

    Dumb MS.

After I originally commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and now every time a comment is added I get four emails with the exact same
comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you are able to remove me from that service?
    Thank you!
